Cookbook4all
Draft subject to legal review

Privacy notice

Last updated: July 8, 2026

Who we are

Cookbook4all is operated by 2018 Inc., California. This notice explains, in plain language, how we handle information for a recipe website, user accounts, and public editorial features. It is an honest draft subject to legal review and may change as the product and its vendors evolve.

Information we may process

When you create an account, we use Clerk to manage authentication, sessions, and basic account data such as name, email, user identifiers, and avatar if provided. In the app you may save recipes, ingredients, steps, photos, menus, shopping lists, family members, allergies, or restrictions you choose to record. We may also process user-generated content, family invitations, and language preferences.

User-generated content

Private and family recipes belong to the user or family that creates them. Do not publish information you do not have the right to share. If a recipe becomes public or editorial content, you understand that it may be indexed, shown in search engines, shared on social platforms, and used to improve the site experience. Do not use Cookbook4all to store sensitive medical data or emergency allergy instructions.

AI Chefs and AI-assisted content

Some public pages include AI Chefs. They are artificial-intelligence profiles created by the Cookbook4all team to curate and present recipes; they are not real people. AI-assisted content may contain mistakes, omissions, or imperfect suggestions. Users should cook with judgment, food safety, and attention to their ingredients.

Cookies, analytics, and measurement

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, and measure product usage. We may use PostHog for product analytics, navigation events, performance, and experience improvements. PostHog may receive technical identifiers, visited pages, interaction events, approximate device data, and session data. We do not aim to sell personal data.

Advertising and affiliates

Cookbook4all may display ads on public pages when AdSense or another provider is configured. For now, ads are hidden for any signed-in session while we define a premium plan. Advertising providers may use cookies or similar signals under their own policies. We may publish affiliate links in the future and will identify them when appropriate.

Vendors

In addition to Clerk and PostHog, we use infrastructure such as Vercel, Neon/PostgreSQL, Vercel Blob, and AI or email providers when a feature requires it. These vendors process data on our behalf to host the app, store images, operate the database, send communications, or generate requested content.

Retention, security, and your choices

We keep data while your account is active or as needed to operate the service, meet obligations, resolve disputes, or prevent abuse. We apply reasonable controls, but no system is perfect. You may request access, correction, or deletion by emailing hello@cookbook4all.com. Some deletions may take time because of backups, legal obligations, or minimal security logs.

Children and changes

Cookbook4all is intended for family use with adult supervision. If you record children’s information in family profiles, do so only if you have authority and avoid unnecessary sensitive information. We may update this notice; the current version will be posted on this page with its update date.
